Photograph by Mully Thutfon. Hudson, the former leader of Van Saar gang The Sulaco Savages lines up a shot at a Delaque Heavy.
Where are the Sulaco Savages? It has been three months since their disappearance from West Hive. They had challenged another gang to a fight and then failed to turn up. In their place, a gang unheard of before and since, The Hammersmith Hardmen, arrived at the pre-arranged site of battle and lost, sustaining three fatalities. There had been regular changes in leadership of the Savages. The original leader, Alphonse Apone, is the only member, former or otherwise, that can still be found in West Hive. The self styled hired gun charges 57 Credits to fight for a gang for one encounter. Our picture, taken by our star photographer, Mully Thutfon, shows another former leader, Hudson, just before he fired a shot at a heavy from a rival gang. It was the ganger Hicks, who deposed him, who many believe lead the Sulaco savages from West Hive in search of better things. Did the Savages leave West Hive in search of a better life and more lucrative opportunities however? Rumors still abound of disappearances and strange four armed creatures stalking the badzones. | Aug. 27th, 2007 12:50 am Wyrds Raid Pit Slave's Hideout To Rescue Captive Comrade. 27.08.07.M42
By Grunty McBean-Gang Warfare Correspondent.
The Underhive shook to no less than two encounters between Wyrd Gang, The New Order and an as yet unnamed Pit Slave gang four days ago. The first skirmish ended with the Pit Slaves running from the engagement area dragging New Order gang member, Cube with them. The second saw the mutants assaulting the cyborgs HQ in an attempt to get their brethren back. One assumes that due to the blessed rarity of the degenerate psykers, each member of their gang is a valuable asset. Apparently, the Wyrds had a plan when they approached the Pit Slaves hideout: To use the power of one of their members to mask their presence form the machine men. That plan however went out of the window when they reached the encampment's outskirts. We do not know if the number of defenders guarding the hideout were too many for the Wyrd's unholy powers to affect, or if the basic bloodthirsty nature of the mutant's took over, but they took the offensive, attacking the cyborgs from the outset. The beginning of the battle went the way of the Wyrds. Two Pit Slaves were shot down, not with the infernal fireballs often seen generated by the psykers, but by pistols that they were carrying. About a third of The way into the fight, New Order member, Torch seemed to move faster than was possible. One onlooker said "He was in one place one minute. And the next he was somewhere else!" The Pit Slave's Techno was guarding thier prisoner with his flame thrower. He managed to edge a shot around thier captive, seemingly not wanting to harm him, maybe for a bounty in future managed by some middle man; and hit Torch. The Mutant's robes were singed, but he was otherwise unharmed. Alas for the Pit Slave, his flamer's tank had run dry. The Techno, like all of his kind not known for his prowess in hand-to-hand combat, either desperate to keep Cube his prisoner, or psychologically bolstered by the arrival of more of his men just behind him, charged past the now freed Cube and into Torch. The combat lasted longer than might have been thought, but in the end , the outcome was as expected, with Torch, who was wielding two daggers, taking the Techno out of the fight. The arrival of more Pit Slaves on the outskirts of the encampment prompted more exchanges of fire. This time including pyrokinetic and telekinetic attacks from the mutants. The renewed effort from the cyborgs succeeded in injuring the newly liberated Cube. Despite the staunch defense put up by the Pit Slaves of thier headquarters, they could not prevent the Wyrds from disabling all of them and escaping with their gang member.

| Aug. 18th, 2007 02:52 am "No Demons In The Underhive" Announce Guilders. 18.08.07.M42.
By Grunty McBean-Gang Warfare Correspondent.
There have been rumors circulating in the last few days of a demonic manifestation during a three way battle near Slime Creak. The fight involved The Ash Nomad gang: Red Dwarf, The Weird Gang: The New Order and a hunt of Spyrers calling themselves Skynet. The rumors have been circulating like wildfire in the drinking dens of the Underhive and it seems that no-one has not heard the story which seems to grow more and more exaggerated with each retelling. Guilder Harepeece had released this statement: "In the battle last Thursday between Red Dwarf, Skynet and The New Order, The mutant psychic, Sniper, did not tap into the raw energies of the Warp allowing a demonic entity to possess his body. Tendrils of warp fire were not seen to extend fro his eyes, nose, mouth and ears. He did not grow long claws. Furthermore, he did not fire bolts of warp energy from those claws. After a while, his body was not entirely consumed by warp fire leaving only a pile of ashes and a charred skeleton. If any charred remains of bodies are found at Slime Creek, that is due to the currently large amount of gangers running around with melta guns. Please do not approach any such remains and report their whereabouts to your local Arbites." Leave a comment

| Jul. 31st, 2007 02:09 am Mutant Freaks vs Demons From The Spire. 31.07.07.M42
By Grunty McBean-Gang Warfare Correspondent.
There was a clash in the Underhive last week that could only be a good thing for the denizens of West Hive. Whoever lost, we won. It was in the interest of any law abiding Emperor fearing citizen to want the two gangs to be wiped out. The gangs in question were a new group of Spyrers to emerge from the Spire and the Wyrd gang "The New Order". The two gangs approached eachother in Dust Creek. The Spyrers with their feared battle rigs and the Wyrds with their unholy mutant powers prepared to face off. The Beastmasters of the Wyrd gang led the way, urging their rats forward to attack the Spyrers. The rats pinned down the Smaller gang of nobles while the "Order's" Pyrokinetics and Telekinetic pelted their rivals with fireballs and debris pulled up from the hive floor. The Wyrds showed no mercy, even for their own pets as the rats were engulfed in the fireballs that were targeted on the Spyrers. They "Order's" leader, the very vocal Riot, whose statements this paper refuses to print, entered combat with a Spyrer in a Yeld Battle rig. The combat was brief with the mutant, who has boasted much of his physical prowess, fell. Despite their leader having been taken out of the fight, the Wyrds managed to see off the Spyrers, the latter gang bottling due to the onslaught of rats and ranged assaults from the mutants. | Jul. 24th, 2007 02:36 am It's All Going A Bit Wyrd. 24.07.07.M42
By Compost Barnpot-Editor.
A worrying course of events has been taking place of late. A charismatic yet foul mutant psychic calling himself Riot has surfaced in the badzones. The Emperors finest Adeptus Arbites have been monitoring his movements, but have been unable to prevent his activities. it seems that he has amassed a "gang", if you can call it that of other degenerate psykers for unknown nefarious purposes. It is expected, a contact within Arbite precinct IIX, tells me, that Riot and his "men will make their move within the next week. Wyrd activity on this scale has not been seen in living memory. I urge all readers to be on their guard. Leave a comment

| Jul. 24th, 2007 02:19 am Replacement Killers. 24.07.07.M42
By Grunty McBean-GangWarfare Correspondent.
Nearly two weeks ago, Hicks, leader of the Van Saar gang Sulaco Savages issued a challenge to any "willing" gang to meet his at Sludge Canyon for "a no holds bared contest to see who's gang is the stronger". An Escher gang turned up for the fight, but the Savages failed to show. In their place, another Van Saar gang by the name of The Hammersmith Hard Men (one assumes that they hold a number of forges). The fight didnt go well for the previously unheard of gang. Three of their number died from injuries received in the battle. Nothing has been heard of them since. As for the Sulaco Savages, they have not been seen or heard from either. Their dissapearance as mysterious as the arrival and dissapearance of The Hard men. Leave a comment

| Apr. 7th, 2007 08:03 pm No Rat Danger Announce Guilders Compost Barmpot writes:
Its official. The weird incursion of rat-like mutants was a one off, and the concerted effort of the Gulders and House militia's has wiped out the menace once and for all. that was the message from Head Guilder Ken Livingrock this week. He went on to explain how his expanded 'Confusion Charge' scheme was helping to keep undesirables out of West Underhive.
Local leaders met the news with a predictable mix of skepticism and caution, but it is impossible to argue with the fact that the rat-men have not been seen for about a month. we at the Necro News hope that the mutant scum have gone back to the vile pits that spawned them, or better yet are all dead!
As always though, as one story dies another takes its place: the latest though is downright ridiculous. Several people have approached the Necro News claiming to have seen armour-plated mutant creatures with four arms abducting loved ones. The Necro News love a monster story as much as any other, but this one is plainly nonsense. I'll eat my hat if there are huge armour plated monsters sneaking around in the tubes. There'd be a lot more fuss than a few holesteaders claiming their teenage sons have been eaten. It is the opinion of this editor that those boys have probably just run off to join a gang or seek their fortune somewhere more exciting than a slime-farm. Leave a comment

| Apr. 7th, 2007 08:02 pm Shoot Out Special Grunty McBean writes:
It was looking to be a slow week for gang-fights, after the steady domination of the West Underhive scene by Vince Velvet and his 'Gloved Fists', who have gone from strength to strength since they toppled the Good Time Girls and sold Big Mama to the Guilders.
The recent weeks had been marked by the unusual sight of Van Saar and Escher working together to hold back the tide of Orlocks - particularly tough since the Orlock gang now numbers a full 18 members strong! While all fought well, numbers and skilled shooting took the field, as the newer gangs lost their nerve and 'bottled'.
This week was different, however. This week Escher and Orlock faced off in small scale confrontations at two differnt places.
The first 'shoot-out' happened outside Ahmed's Ammunition and Amusements, when both Berny of the Fists and Katemonster (new heavy with the Escher gang) heard of Ahmed's special offer on las-rifle power packs.
Ahmeds Ammunition and AmusementsHurry down to Ahmed's Ammunition and Amusements Crazy prices on all ammunition types! Rimmed, jacket and caseless shells and bullets all in stock now! All las power packs half-price when you buy belt-fed ammo of any sort! Free entry into Ahmed's Amusements Rat-shoot (every third Rest-day) for all customers | The two heavies took some help and went their ways to Ahmed's. Due to the whim of the Emperor's will, they turned up either end of the street at the same time. Neither could back out in such a public place so they advanced on each other. Soon they were both within yards of Ahmed's door, and the tension was thick in the air. On one side was Berny, his heavy bolter on his back, and two of the newer recuits - Puddle a juve, and Blister who had just won his glove (the mark of a full gang member) the week before. Facing them was Katemonster, her well-oiled heavy stubber slung casually at her waist, Mohican carrying a shotgun, and Hugo - a hired gun who has thrown his shooting skills behind the Escher. The Escher broke first, and went for their guns. Puddle, obviously eager to show his worth to the Fists, pulled off a tricky quickdraw with his autopistol, and sprayed Mohican with bullets. The Escher was knocked flying, but not seriously wounded. Hugo shot Blister, and even with a plasma pistol failed to wound the hardy Orlock. In the telling moment of the fight, Berny's Bolter came into play before Katemonster had got her stubber to bear. The Orlock heavy laid down a barrage of explosive fire, downing both Katemonster and Mohican. Shaking off the effects of Hugo's shots, Blister ran into combat, but clouted himself soundly across the back with his own flail. Hugo kept his nerve even though his two compatriots were down, and returned Blister's blows with shots, but neither were hurt. After dispatching the two downed Escher, Berny and Blister closed into the melee with Hugo, and the three overpowered him. The Orlocks were justly proud of their achievements, and Puddle was awarded his glove, and a gleaming new bolt pistol for his part in the combat.
The second shoot-out was due to an unfortunate competition between two drinking-holes. The 'Boulevard' a hole preferred by Escher gangers and the Orlock-run 'Rivetgun and Firkin' are set up either side of a well-run route near Eeling Green. In an attempt to drum up business, both had announced a 'happy' hour of cheap drinks. While this attracted more customers, it also made it almost inevitable that gang-members would meet in the street outside. Just such a situation happened just days after the heavies had met outside Ahmed's. The Eschers were Bluehair, Halo, and Katemonster, now fully recovered from her previous encounter and looking forward to some drinks with umbrellas in. The Orlocks were Dicer, the sneaky Fist with a needlepistol, Tetsubo, proud owner of a fully-functioning powerfist, the badly-scarred but hardy Vark and Gasket, a juve looking to earn his glove. Again the Escher lost their nerve first, and again the Orlocks fired first*. In a positive blur of action Vark drew his two boltpistols, but fired wild. Dicer put a needle-pistol round into Blue, pinning her. Tetsubo fired his shotgun, pinning Halo. Gasket, eager but untried, missed his shot at Katemonster. Katemonster grinned wide, and sprayed the Orlocks with stubber-fire. She hit them all, wounding two, and sending them all to the ground, but not getting to Ahmed's had cost her dear -the belt ran dry! The Orlocks, reeling, pulled themselves to their feet. Blue and Halo both pinned their chosen targets, but failed to wound the tough men. Due to the close quarters, the Orlocks could rely on each other to pull themselves up. Leaving firepower aside the four decided to close with their enemy. Tetsubo and Dicer closed rapidly on Blue, who was swiftly knocked down and out by the powerfist, and Tetsubo rushed on to engage Katemonster, who was still trying to load a new belt of ammunition - if she had run when she ould, she might not have been injured here. Meanwhile Vark and Gasket had decided to doubleteam Halo. Vark was outclassed in hand to hand, but Halo's weapon couldn't hurt him. Gasket got a lucky shot off with his stubpistol, dropping Halo. Once again the Fists held the field, and another juve won his Glove.

| Mar. 16th, 2007 02:50 am New Leader For Savages 16.3.007.M42
Report by Scabby Hashbrown-Political Correspondent.
The leadership of the Van Saar gang, Sulaco Savages changed recently. There had been rumblings in the gang that members were not happy at having "run away" from every fight that they had been in, under the leadership of Alphonse Apone. After a fight with two other gangs last week, in which the 'Savages again retreated, then second in command Harry Hudson challenged Apone to a fight for leadership of the gang. In the leadership challenge, Apone, who incidentally was known as the best shot in his gang, first missed Hudson, then scratched him with a plasma bolt, tearing his suit but causing no injury. Hudson fired two shots at Apone from his autogun, first missing, but with his second shot, wounding him in the leg and winning the contest. Frost, the gangs medic patched him up leaving him with no lasting injury. Hudson then sent the gangs former leader on his way exiling him from the gang. Alphonse Apone has since gone into business as a hired gun, renting out his services to anyone who can afford him. Leave a comment

20.02.007.M42.
At 02.43Imperial Standard Time this morning a small meteor hit the side of Hive Primus at level 1467, West Underhive. It was unusual due to the fact that it penetrated the adamantium wall of the hive. Clean-up crews said that it seemed to have secreted a corrosive acid that ate through the outer shell of the great structure and allowed it egress. Leave a comment

| Feb. 20th, 2007 03:00 am Rumour-Winged Death Approaches. Report by Scabby Hashbrown - Political Correspondent.
20.02.007.M42.
Rumors have filtered down from up-hive that a new Spyrer hunt will soon be ready to depart from the spyre. It is unknown at present which of the noble houses the hunt will originate from, but it is believed that it will be made up entirely of hunters in the much feared Yeld battlerigs. The Yeld have have often been referred to as "Winged Death" by denizens of the underhive. I recently spoke to Jonkie "Scabs" Davins, a former ganger with the Cutthroats Van Saar gang, and current alcoholic. He had this to say about the Yeld. "There were like two of 'em man. They came out of no-where and shot down my whole gang. And when you try to shoot back at 'em they just like disappear. That's when I hit the Wildsnake. It's not my fault man. Can you spare a few creds for a war veteran?" Leave a comment

| Feb. 13th, 2007 01:29 am Interview With "Sgt" Apone. 13.02.007.M42
By Shebounta Showbitz - Showbiz Correspondent.
Self styled "Sgt" Alphonse Apone is the leader of the Sulaco Savages, the new Van Saar gang sighted last week in their first gang fight in West Hive.
SS: So Alphonse, I can call you Alphonse can't I? AA: I prefer Sarge! SS You're the leader of the Sulaco Savages, the new Van Saar gang who have turned up in West Hive seemingly filling in the void left by the departure of the Ordinary Heroes. AA: We've been looking for a way into the gang action here for a while. With the 'Heroes finishing, it seemed the ideal time to make our entrance. SS: Where does the name "Sulaco Savages" come from? AA:Every member of the gang comes from Sulaco Heights, the gambling district of West Underhive. SS: Is it true that in your first gang fight last week, you ran away like a bunch of babies? AA: Babies? BABIES? It was a tactical withdrawal. SS: Yes. Of course. Sorry. But how did your gang react to leaving the fight so soon? AA: Well, Hudson asked me: "How do I get out of this chicken s*** outfit.". SS: And you said? AA: "Stow that s*** Hudson." SS: Tell me, what did your gangers make of the fight. AA: Well some of my guys were interested to learn who their opponents were. For instance, Vasquez, one of my heavies, saw the blonde Esher just before she got shot and fell off of the building she was on and asked me: "Who's Snow White?". SS: Were your gang excited by their first gang fight? AA: Certainly. At one point while firing his shotgun, I heard Hicks shout: "Eat this.". SS: Finally, if anyone should think of joining your gang, what can the men under you hope to gain? AA: Like I say to the men:"A day in my gang is like life on the farm-Every meals a banquet, every paycheck a fortune.". Leave a comment

| Feb. 2nd, 2007 05:56 pm Indigenous fury over Scavvy influx 3.2.007 M42 Scabby Hashbrown reporting:
Several spokesmen for the Ratskin community have come forward to express concern that the recently sighted 'Ratmen' Scavvy gang may be damaging the reputation of their people.
Man With Bucket, a Ratskin Scout long known to this reporter, said: "Mutant rat-men not with The People. They not have Hive-spirits on their side. They eat man-meat. This is forbidden, brings madness. Hive-spirits will strike them down."
Despite this and similar statements from Ratskins around the settlements, there is a dangerous mood growing. Some Guilder guard units have been seen burning out nests of rats on the southern edge of Tipping Down Settlement. Rat attacks on people has been up almost 4.6% on this time last quarter. | Feb. 2nd, 2007 05:42 pm Boys and Grrls come out to play! Dateline: 02.02.007.M42 Reporter: Happyhappy Joyjoy Bangbang, Assistant gang warfare editor
Another of the unfortunate meetings between rival gangs spilt into vicious infighting. The Good Time Girls, reckoned by many to be the most powerful gang active in the area covered by Necro News found themselves once again at odds with a younger gang, eager to test the theory that the Girls are a fading star.
Well the Gloved Fists, a fairly recent entrant to the Gang scene, but a rapidly rising one, certainly found out that even a fading star can burn too hot to handle. As the Girls swarmed out of one entrance to the small blister dome, the Fists laid down a hail of fire, laser and bolt shells screaming across the dome. The Girls showed their mettle, and kept closing, though many of them had to duck and weave as shots came too close for comfort. The Orlocks sent their hand to hand crew up and over, obviously hoping to flank the Escher advance, but Big Mama gave her trademark barrage of handgun fire, while Mohican and one of the gang’s ‘Eldar wannabes’ cut off the advance. The poor young men were cut down in an instant, much to the obvious pleasure of the Escher.
The Orlocks had their revenge when a concerted sniping campaign took down Big Mama, but the rest of the boys seem to be shooting blanks! The Good Time Girls were hit again and again, but as the old Goliath drinking song goes: “The Escher Don’t Go Down”! This was especially true of Angel Claw, who showed that her position as the most experienced Ganger in West Underhive is down in part to good fortune. At one point 5 of the Orlocks fired at her, with 4 hits, but she shrugged off the hail of fire to stand again in an instant.
In the end it took the knocking out of Dyke, the burly heavy of the Girls to persuade them to retreat. The Orlocks held the field but it cost them dear. One of their more experienced hands, going by the name of "Seal", succumbed to the bolt-pistol round in his chest, despite the medical attention given by his gang-mates.
Vince Velvet, leader of the Gloved Fists had this to say to our reporter: “I’m gonna carry Seal’s club with me. And if any of those stone b*tches get too close – well, I’m gonna let them feel my anger.”
A short memorial service will be held for Seal next Tuesday at the Smelter's Elbow drinking hole. The Gloved Fists ask that no non-Orlocks attend. 1 comment - Leave a comment
